We Hear What We Want to Hear and Tell Ourselves What We Want to Believe

Life Coaching Phoenix: We hear what we want to hear - More importantly we create who we want to be

Life Coaching Phoenix: We hear what we want to hear - More importantly we create who we want to be
I just received a joke in my email from a friend of mine. The joke goes like this:

A man’s wife had just bought a new line of expensive cosmetics guaranteed to make her look years younger.  She sat in front of the mirror, for what had to be hours, applying the “miracle” products.

Finally, when she was done, she turned to her husband and asked, “Darling, honestly now, what age would you say I am?”

He nodded his head in assessment, and carefully said, “Well, judging from your skin, twenty.

Your hair, eighteen.

Your figure, twenty-five.”

“Oh, you’re so sweet!” gushed the wife.

“Well, hang on,” he replied, “I’m not finished adding it up yet.”

We are a funny people. We are wired to want to hear only good about ourselves.  That wiring sometimes stops us from being in reality about what is so and creating what could be.

When we are not genuine with ourselves about who we are, who we are being and what we are “really” up to in life, we cannot create limitless possibilities, generate and manifest the success or abundance we are seeking.

Just as the woman in the joke with all the creams, she spent hours bathing herself in these creams in an attempt to cover or mask the reality of her age and physical condition.  So we, too, put up smokescreens and apply masks and blinders as to where we really are.

Only when we can breakthrough the self-emposed chains of our thoughts can we live into our limitless possibility.

What will it take for you to face yourself?  Will you need a guide, a confidant, a listener?

Step up, step into your life, grab it and run with passion toward your abundance.

Reporter gets Scooped! Your Health Matters.

Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Healthy You
By

This was a pretty incredible story about a reporter trying to get the scoop on a reknown doctor in Los Angeles and what he discovers about his own health.

We seldom think “this could happen” to me, but the plain truth is that we routinely take little consideration for our own health and well-being (aside from exercising at the gym or eating the “right” food).  Health and well-being is more than jogging and eating an organic apple… it is a overall integrated approach to our life —

  • the health of our body at a bio-molecular level (not just what we can visually see physically represented)
  • the health of our mind
  • the health of our spirit
  • the health of our intellect

Make sure it doesn’t happen to you… take responsibility for ALL OF YOU.
