We Choose to Be Homeless at 60

November 27, 2012 in Being Our Best, EFT - Tapping for Health, Hypnosis, NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming, Strategies for Success

Hot Summer Coming: Who Invented the First Car Air Conditioner?

June 26, 2012 in Laughing at Ourselves

IN HOT SUMMER COMING YOU CAN BE THANKFUL FOR THESE BROTHERS? Did you know that the Goldberg Brothers  were the  inventors of the automobile air conditioner? Here’s a little factoid for automotive buffs or just to dazzle your friends. The four Goldberg brothers: Lowell, Norman, Hiram and Max, invented and developed the first automobile air-conditioner in 1946. July 17, 1946, the temperature in Detroit was 97 degrees when the four brothers walked into old man Henry Ford’s office and sweet-talked his secretary into telling him that four gentlemen were there with the most exciting innovation in the auto industry since the electric starter. Henry was curious and invited them into his office. They refused and instead asked that he come out to the parking lot to

10 Suggestions to Help You Resolve Conflicts

June 25, 2012 in Being Our Best, Strategies for Success

We all find ourselves faced with conflict at one time or another.  These suggestions may help you bring power and resolution to an upset.  Usually when we are confronted with a conflict our emotional responses are quickly triggered. Find power and choice by employing these guidelines: 1. Timing is critical – it is unwise to attempt to solve conflict when emotions are running very high.  When you find yourself involved in an “emotionally-charged” confrontation or conflict with another, suggest  that you schedule a time to discuss and resolve the conflict. 2. Be Open and Honest – remember the reason you are having a conflict is because you both had a different idea or opinion about something.  When you attempt to resolve the conflict its helps

What is a Pattern Interrupt?

June 24, 2012 in NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming, Pattern Interrupt, Strategies for Success

Over time, thinking the same thoughts and doing the same things can stymy creative thought and possibility creation. Not only do we frequently get stuck in the routines of thought and patterns of activity, but neurological patterns and conditioning are created. Neurologically stored patterns can be far more difficult to break or change, hence, the need for a pattern interrupt. A pattern interrupt (also sometimes called a confusion technique) is an interruption, often unexpected, in the  flow or sequence of activity or thought. June 24, 2012 in Strategies for Success

Whether we are life coaches, managers, mothers, fathers or friends we often want to “empower” others.  Individuals may grow up not being acknowledged, complimented or celebrated which results in their inability to hear, receive or believe positive feedback and compliments. In this blog I will discuss 7 skills that can be used to help empower and strengthen others.   You can use these same skills to empower yourself. 1.
